Let it Snow!

Finally it started to snow!  :-)   I’m thinking it will freeze over and we will have off school tomorrow.  I’m really hoping so because it’s my best friend’s birthday and she’s had snow days on her birthday the last few years, and because I don’t want to go to school.  Pray for snow!!

Map of the Month

Almost every month our class gets a map and has to label and color it. This one is a map of all of North America.  I labeled everything, I just have to shade in the extra parts.  I’m happy I got this done over our Thanksgiving break. Unfortunately, they take a while to do.  :-p

Funny Bunny

Tomorrow our school is doing something special with the Junior National Honor Society. We can come dressed up as either a barnyard animal, Bible character, or a community helper. I am going to be a bunny. We have bunny ears, and I have a furry vest, so I decided to do that. My sister is gonna be my mom, since she’s a community helper. The good thing is that we get to dress out of uniform, but the bad thing is we have to pay a dollar to dress up.

The Gallon Man

There is an easy way to remember gallons, quarts, pints, etc. Just pretend that your stomach is the gallon. Now your top part of all 4 of your limbs are the quarts. So, 4 quarts is 1 gallon. Now, your lower part of your limbs are the pints, because the have 2 bones. So, 8 pints is 1 gallon. Okay, now your fingers and toes are the cups(not thumbs or little toe). It’s just an easy way to remember all that stuff. And also your 2 eyes and nose are teaspoons. Your mouth(opened wide) is the tablespoon. So, 3 teaspoons is 1 tablespoon.

Reading Log

I have to read like 300 minutes for October.  It’s for school and trust me it is not fun.  I just read 30 minutes and my head is spinning already! Like 2 weeks ago I read for 2 hours straight, and I was reading Left Behind Kids 2: Second Chance.  It’s a good book, and it isn’t that long, but the print is small.  What makes the book seem even more boring is that there is no pictures! I know, hard to believe, huh? So far I only have like 200 minute with only about a week left.  I hope I don’t have to do this every month.

Operation Christmas Child

Does your church or school or club do Christmas boxes for needy children? My church and school does.  At church today the kids decorated boxes then brought them home to fill up with little toys and things.  After everybody has filled up there box, we will send them to a place where the boxes are shipped off to poor kids.  When you fill a box, you choose whether it be for a boy or girl.  Then you choose what age group: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14.  I am doing one for a girl ages 10 -14.  I chose that so I have a better perspective of what they would enjoy getting in a little shoe box.  I hope all the kids that receive a box will hear about the story of Jesus  and how they can be saved.  I hope they learn that God loves them very, very much.  I think this is a great way to show our love to other people.  If your school or church doesn’t do this, you should fill a box to show that you care for those poor kids living in a world we would rather not live in.

Race for Education

On Friday, our school had a “Race for Education.” What we did was we sent letters out to people asking them to sponsor us by donating money for every lap that student ran around the building. I said in the letters I sent out that I would run approximately 30 laps. Our school’s goal was to reach $10,000. Every class/group had 1 hour to run. I only ended up running 20 laps, but that is because our class started late.(I should have 30). After each class did their time running, there was some fun, little amusement park rides. One ride spins around with little groups of 4 kids in an enclosed box. In each box, there was a wheel in the middle for the kids to turn to make their box spin individually. I got in a box with my best friend, Candice. I thought it was only going to be us two, but a 5th grader kept begging us to let her come in. so eventually we did, and I regretted it. She spun us so fast, my friend and I up-chucked our lunch! Other than that regretful experience, I had lots of fun. Since there was face-painting, my friend and I decided to do it. I got a green line straight down the middle of my face, and my friend got a red line down the middle of her face. We looked weird, but a whole lot better than Bradley! On his face he got a mustache, lipstick(gross), and a “beauty mark”, and on the side of his face it said,”I’m pretty.”There was also pony rides, but I did not do that. My sister did and she said it went you know what while she was on it. But I have to admit, Friday was very fun!
